Freiman Stoltzfus

Intermission, etching with colored pencil, 15" x 17"
In his drawings, etchings and paintings, Freiman Stoltzfus explores ideas of transcendence. Using sacred geometry and architectural line, he creates ordered landscapes that are bound neither by time nor space. His sources of inspiration include gothic architecture and traditional quilt motifs from his Pennsylvania Amish heritage. The distinctive blending of color, form and texture creates freedom within order; a compelling dialogue between nature and humanity, abstraction and realism, between darkness and light.
