The Journey, from the Sirens series, monotype – dry-point etching,
with drawing and painting, 16-1/2” x 11-1/2”

Sirens is the title of the series of dry-point etchings inspired by the
sculptures and drawings of Norman Lindsay 1879-1969. Lindsay is one of
Australia's most famous and iconic artists who devoted his life to
recreating the mythical through his art. He believed that all things
originate in the myths which are the sacred all-embracing "True Tale" told
by the muses. Artists acknowledge the divine origin of the tale given to
them through the gift of inspiration. Plato called it poetical madness, a
condition which must be given by the gods.
