Lost Childhood Dreams, clay, 20" x 10" x 9"

"The subject deals with my son's diagnosis of Type I, insulin dependent Diabetes
at age eight, and the crushing reality of a lifelong, incurable chronic disease.
Creating this (and other pieces) allowed me to express my emotions and fears,
and truly became a kind of release for me.
Lost Childhood Dreams depicts the innocence of youth and all the hopes
and dreams of a child now lost, saddled for the rest of his life with the over-riding
necessity of the constant awareness and maintenance of a chronic disease."
