This was the Fifth Annual Manhattan Arts International "Healing Power of Art" online exhibition.
ABOUT THE JURORS FOR HEALING 2008
Renée Phillips, New York, NY, Director of Manhattan Arts International, author, and curator of more than 50 exhibitions in NYC including several Art and Healing related exhibitions. She co-curated "Redefining Visionary Art" in Doma Gallery, SoHo.
"As a juror of this exhibition I looked for work that combines skill and originality with visceral attributes. From awe-inspiring images reflecting inspiration from Source to profound and sometimes painful insight, the entries expressed the broad context of this theme. Congratulations to you all."
Edward Rubin, New York, NY based art writer. His writings regularly appear in Art & Antiques, ArtUS, Sculpture Magazine, NYArts and Contemporary magazine as well as many ezines. He has presented lectures at the University of Texas and Cooper Union.
Jane M. St. Lifer, ASA, New York, NY. She has 30 years experience in the international art world. She is an Accredited Senior Appraiser and curator.
"Most of the works are accomplished and created with great skill. I found many of the works exciting yet there was limited originality. The theme of healing can be subjective and not always the same for each viewer. Pain and suffering touches all of us. The healing process is imperative for all to understand and practice. This exhibition touches the visual senses. Thank you my fellow jurors Renee Phillips and Edward Rubin. It was a pleasure and an honor to work with you on this project." Jane St.Lifer
