Scott A. Munroe specifically works with colored pencils and uses a "burnishing" technique to blend the pigments as well as the use of petroleum jelly to blend the colors, creating a "wash" similar to watercolors. His work begins with an inspiration found in nature; from there the direction grows and shifts according to his ingenious inspiration. The spontaneity that results adds to the abstract quality of the work. |
