MoMA: ARTISTS’ WIDE-RANGING APPROACHES TO THE ILLUSTRATED BOOK EXPLORED IN BOOK/SHELF, Through July 7, 2008, The Paul J. Sachs Prints and Illustrated Books Galleries, second floor. "Book/Shelf ", explores an expanded notion of the illustrated book and features approximately 70 works from the Museum’s collection that use a variety of techniquesincluding photography, film, printmaking, installation, drawing, and sound recordingreflecting artists’ wide range of approaches to the topic. |

DALE CHIHULY AT THE DE YOUNG MUSEUM
The de Young Museum hosts Dale Chihuly’s first major exhibition in San Francisco, June 14 through September 28, 2008. "Chihuly at the de Young" includes eleven galleries of new and archival works representing the breadth and scope of the artist’s creative vision over the last four decades. A pioneer of the studio glass movement, Chihuly has transformed the form and function of glass.

Marc Josloff: The Kyoto Mystery to Mastery Workshop, October 14-24, 2008
See, feel and paint the magical prefecture of Kyoto, historically the cultural center of Japan. You’ll capture temples and shrines, fishing village, old thatched houses, beautiful gardens, markets, craftsmen and local people in native costume. Learn new watercolor skills and polish old ones. Beginners to advanced painters are welcome, as are acrylic and other water-based painters. The workshop has been planned by Yukiko Shimahara, a freelance coordinator for film and television crews.
Notes on the instructor: Marc Josloff is a Watercolor Magic magazine “Ones to Watch” artist who is represented in the prestigious permanent collection of the Art Students League of New York. His “Mystery to Mastery” watercolor workshops have been well received on Long Island and New York. He is the recipient of the 2008 Arts and Education Award from the Long Island Arts Council.
